fushimi inari, bengals & owls.

Friday, December 30th 2016

We went to Fushimi inari, which was probably my favorite place in Kyoto, minus the cat and owl cafe. Fushimi inari was so beautiful and weather was great that day so I was able to capture some good photos. Even if it was crowded, it was still good.

After Fushimi inari we headed to the bengal cat cafe. Bengals are my favorite cats so I was so happy when Lyy took me here. We also went to see the owls which was a good choice. I've never seen an owl so close and you could pet them! They felt like clouds, I loved their touch.

This was probably my favorite day in Kyoto. Me and Lyy chilled at a restaurant as we waited to head to Kyoto to take the shinkansen back to Tokyo.

Overall, the trip was nice. But tbh, I think Kyoto is a bit overhyped. Maybe because I live in the inaka I don't for care it? I actually preferred Miyazaki to Kyoto. It was still a good trip, andI'm happy to get it off my travel list but I probably won't head back to Kyoto or Nara again unless it's for cafes or something.

gold things and arashiyama.

Thursday, December 28th 2016

We arrived in Kyoto the night before and went around the next morning. I really wanted to see Kinkakuji and the bamboo forest at Arashiyama. They were selling soft serve at both places, I had to get the one with gold and the 4 flavored one at Arashiyama. They were both worth it, even though it was freezing.

The bamboo forest was unfortunately super crowded so good pictures were extremely hard to take, and most of the bamboo had fallen down. We weren't sure if it was due to weather conditions or what, but it was a bit disappointing. At least the soft serve was good! And we had duck udon which was also nice.

We went to Arashiyama station where they had an illumination called the "Kimono Forest", it was nice but much more magnificent in photos lol. Afterwards, Lyy and I headed the Shibuya of Kyoto and ate at chilled at an izakaya. The food there was good, especially their duck!

This trip was the first time I've ever had duck and I liked it a lot. Especially the izakaya one.

mysteries of nara.

Wednesday, December 28th 2016

Me and Lyy went on an early bus to Nara. On the way, it began to snow. It was a pretty sight, but it made us arrive a bit later than planned. We met up with one of Lyy's friends, Yoshi. He was nice enough to show us around Nara. We really just wanted to go to the deer park, but he was nice enough to take us to other places.

We saw a giant buddha which put the Kamakura one to shame. We also got to see a few really nice temples. They were definitely nice. The deer park was of course the highlight of Nara for me. I loved the deer. I didn't feed them because they got close to you even if you didn't have food.

Afterwards Yoshi took us to a nice temple in the mountains that had really nice art. But it was so cold, and we had to take off our shoes I wish I could have appreciated it more lol. After that, we hung out with Yoshi and his friends who lived close by. After staying with them for a bit we headed back to central Nara where me and Lyy headed to Kyoto.

a sky full of stars.

Me and Lyy wanted to see illumination so we decided to go back Nabana no Sato. It was our favorite illumination, and it has been 3 years since we had been back there. Honestly, being there brought so many memories of who we were at that time.

Me and Lyy talk about this all the time, we were so different then. It's weird to think about how much things have changed since then. It definitely gave me a nostalgic feeling.

This time, Nabana no Sato wasn't so crowded, it was probably because it was after Christmas already. So me and Lyy were able to take many photos. We also ate a lot of food they were selling. We were being fat asses, but that was most of the trip tbh.

It was nice to go back to Nabana no Sato because to be honest, I don't think I'll be going back. We went back to our airbnb to relax because we were getting up early for Nara the next day.

yes, we eat.

Tuesday, December 27th, 2016

It was my winter vacation already, and the night before I went to Lyy's place to get ready to leave to Nagoya the next day. We were actually a bit productive in Nagoya, usually me and Lyy would just hang out with friends and sleep the day away so we wouldn't do much but we managed to go to a cafe and see some places we've been wanting to in Nagoya.

The cafe called Madison YWE we went to my friend, Yumi recommended. It had such cute interior and the food was delicious, we got the Nagoya special. Afterwards we walked around a bit where we were able to see the Nagoya TV Tower lit up, and finally we saw Oasis 21. It was a nice view but freezing because of the wind.

It's so funny because several of the things I wanted to see were in central Nagoya near Sakae Station anyways but we never had time to do anything. But even though we didn't do any tourists things before, those memories were some of the best memories. I'll admit, I wanted to go to Osu more time but we didn't have enough time to do so unfortunately.

After we walked for a bit we headed to Nabana no Sato, that was the main purpose of our Nagoya visit.

Head banging in a karaoke booth & 2017 New Years Resolutions.

My New Years Eve was spent in a karaoke booth with my best friend, head banging and singing to Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Slipknot, Jimmy Eat World, Panic at the Disco!, and way more. Then we went to her house and watched the sunrise. It was a while since I've had a good New Years.

I'm still unsure about what 2017 has in store for me, hoping good vibes tbh. I was looking back at my 2016 resolutions and I was able to do half of them, not bad. So what are my resolutions for this year?

Continue to get my tattoos. I got several of my tattoos but I still have several more to get. I probably won't get as much as I did last year but I hope to keep getting the ones convenient for me.
Travel out of Japan. My first year I did a lot of traveling within Japan but I really want to go out. Another part of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, heck Europe would be nice too!
Work hard to find a job I really want. This will be hard and I probably won't be able to do it in a year but I hope I can get a step closer to finding a job I really want.
Make the most of my time by making memories and appreciate what you have. Sometimes I get frustrated because I no longer know what I'm doing, but I need to put that aside, appreciate what I have, and enjoy the time I have with my friends because everything is good to change.

I decided to cut out the exercise more for this year because living in the inaka and exercising is too hard for me. Will have to put that on pause. Hope to fulfill the other resolutions though!
